AK WORKOUT TIPS (a short & sweet blogpost)

⭐️If you want results, you NEED to push past your threshold (which is always changing and adapting as you become stronger) If you ALWAYS do the same type of cardio, the same intensity for the same amount of time, your body WILL adapt to it. Remember this: When you feel the burn, do 5 more reps! Always, keep, pushing.

⭐️Make a training schedule for the week to follow. Ex. Monday: legs & glutes, Tuesday: HIIT & abs Wednesday: Arms & shoulders, Thursday: Rest... etc. .

⭐️Exercise to FEEL the difference. Stop focusing on how many calories you’ve burnt during the workout, and start focusing on how good you feel after the workout.  When “feeling good” becomes the priority, you‘ll have constant motivation. The post-workout “feeling” is what will get you out of bed and keep you active for LIFE. The harder you work, the better you’ll feel. Then guess what? The physical benefits will naturally follow as a bonus (yup)! . Exercise should NOT feel like a punishment or a chore. If that’s what it feels like, either shift your mindset (keep reading) or change up your workout routine. Exercise should be something you look forward to, because it‘s a luxury. Remember, not everyone has access to a gym, a workout machine, running shoes, or even a body that works... Be grateful.

⭐️Leave your emotions out of the gym! Whether you’re sad, happy, tired, or stressed, get your body moving.
Remember, don’t make your workout dependant on how you feel. I used to do that all the time. If I was in a bad mood, I’d stay home. But guess what? Staying home only made me cranky... I‘d get into a bad training funk (I have a post on funks AND training funks on my blog).

⭐️Write our your workouts so you have a game plan. Bringing a piece of paper to the gym with the exact exercises with #’s of sets & reps will keep you organized and ensure you don’t stop half way! Stick to the plan and execute it every step of the way. .

⭐️STOP CHECKING YOUR PHONE!! set up a workout playlist, press shuffle and stay focused.

⭐️Set realistic goals. Your only competition should be yourself in and out of the gym.

Don’t aim to look like other girls you see on IG. If you do this, you’ll NEVER be happy because you’ll probably never look like them 🤷🏼‍♀️Embrace your body and aim to be the best version of yourself.

⭐️Get enough sleep! This is so important for both muscle recovery, muscle repair and progression in the gym with strength and your body! You need to be able to prioritize rest to see the progress you want!

⭐️Find a training time that works for you. If training in the morning isn’t your thing and you have more energy in the afternoon, then do that.

⭐️Be patient! Results take time. It doesn’t happen overnight, so remember that consistency is key and the harder you work and the more consistent you are with all of the above tips is how much your body is going to change and respond!

⭐️Eat enough! In order to train efficiently and recover from your workouts you need to eat enough and FUEL your muscles pre and post workout and throughout the entire day! To come back stronger you need to fuel your body every day!
